A Sunflower Kindle Cozy! (Free Pattern)

Hi to all my lovely followers out there in cyberspace!

Earlier this week I promised y'all a pattern for the sunflower kindle cozy that I recently made It's been a while since I posted a free pattern, so here it is! Enjoy!

Things you'll need:
5mm Crochet hook (size H)
Worsted weight yarn in your choice of colors.
I used Red Heart Super Saver in the colors of Gold, Thyme and Aran. The brown was a stash yarn that I've had forever so I'm not sure of the actual color, although any deep brown should work for this project.
Tapestry Needle for sewing it all together!

Alrighty, first things first. You're going to use a simple granny square pattern that features a sunflower in the middle. I found this great one from MAZ KWOK'S Designs HERE! (Bonus, she also has one for a Daisy granny, in case you wanted to substitute.) You'll follow that pattern until you have about 4 rounds of the actual granny square, or a square that measures approximately 6".

Once you reach the desired size of your square then you'll actually start forming the back part of the project. You'll simply continue onto the side of the square, DC until the end of the row, ch1, turn and work sc into every stitch. You'll repeat this until the back matches up with the front in size.

Stitch the bottom and side together.

Using your base color, DC around the top of your project,
switch to a contrasting color and SC around the top.

Next you'll work picots! *Ch1, Sc1* repeat until you reach the end of the round. Finish off and weave in ends.

And there you have a cozy for your Kindle or other E-Reader!

Happy Crafting!
~Dorothy Sue
