Craftiness, Allons-y!!!

Image
If you know me, even briefly, you know of my unyielding love for all things Whovian inspired! Yes! I watch the show while I exercise, knit, crochet, breathe, eat, ... you get the picture. So like any true whovian crafter would do, with the help of my trusty ravelry account, I've made inspired things. Take a look! The Tardis Pillow  and Amigurumi  patterns can be found on Ravelry.  The beanie was loosely based on this pattern  HERE . Instead of using circular needles, that I hate with a passion (probably due to my lack of experience with them), I adapted it for straight needles. Which I'll eventually post that pattern, as soon as I remember exactly how I did it. (oops, I should really write it out as I go along.) And the bow tie, oh my it was really simple! In fact, it was "Easy as Pie!!!" Check it out  HERE !!! So there ya have it! Four great Whovian inspired projects! Check em out!!! Happy Crafting, Miss Blue Bird

Easy as Pie Bow Tie!

Today's pattern is super fast and easy! It would make a great addition to a costume for Halloween, if your kid is going as the 11th Doctor, Willy Wonka, etc.... So why not give it a go! Grab a J hook and your favorite yarn and lets go! GERONIMO!!!  chain about 50-60 (depending how wide you want your bow to be.) DC into2nd from hook... When you reach the end of the row do NOT connect, but ch1 and turn R2: HDC into every stitch ch1 and turn. R3: DC every stitch, ch1 and turn. Continue with rows 2 & 3 until you reach the desired height. Using a tapestry needle, whip stitch the two sides together! Depending on how tight you want your definition in your bow, chain anywhere from 5-7. SC 2 rows. Neck band: Measure neck and chain a little less than that measurement.Sc 3 rows! Get some velcro, a button, or another fastening notion and sew that sucker on there! Now take your middle section and put it under your bow, put the center of the neckband on top

Perfect Fall Pot Roast!

I love fall. I love the cooler weather and being able to wear the many fashions I've knitted or crochet this summer! But most of all I love the smell of something cooking in the crockpot after a long day of classes! Here's my favorite go-to recipe for instant goodness.... LIQUID FALL!!!! The aroma is magnificent and the pork cooks up "oh so love me tender" for a classic stew! German Crock Pot Roast!!! 4 cups shredded red cabbage 1 onion, chopped 1/2 cup brown sugar 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper 3 lbs boneless pork shoulder Combine cabbage, onion, brown sugar, and vinegar in 4 to 4 quart slow cooker. Sprinkle roast with salt and pepper and brown in heavy skillet, about 5-6 minutes total, turning until browned on all sides. Place pork in slow cooker; cover, and cook on Low for 7-8 hours until pork registers 160 degrees F. Enjoy! Bon appetite! ~Miss Blue Bird

Shake Your Pom-Poms Hat!

Hello to all my lovely readers! As you know I'm an avid knitter, actually some might call it a slight obsession that I have with yarn. Well thanks to Ravelry I'm never at a loss for what creation comes next. I love quick and easy projects and that's what I found with this hat from IS + WAS. It's anthropologie inspired diy which makes it even more fantastic! Why pay a big price for something you can make yourself? The answer is simple, you wouldn't!!! You would buy 1-2 skeins of your favorite chunky yarn and make this puppy up!!! (pssst... in case you're wondering I used Oklahoma City Green by Lion Brand's Hometown solids collection) Check it out!!! Here's what I came up with! I did make a slight change to the pattern by doing a 2x2 ribbing for the first 2 rows to give it a nice ribbed edge. Pretty awesome, huh? So head on over to IS + WAS' blog and get the free pattern! HERE is the link, in case you're wondering! Happy Craft
