... and a happy new year!
Well here we are. It's 2015!
Whooo break out the apple cider and raise your glass! It's time for resolutions that some of us (myself included) will ultimately break. For example, blogging! Oh goodness, I'm so sorry to all of my readers. It's been forever since my last post. Let me assure you that I've been working on my "year of projects"... the crafty part? I kinda rock at! Not so much on the follow up blogging.
I've completed some wonderful projects and y'all deserve to share in the fun! So I'll try (key word, TRY) to play a little catch up and share with you the projects that I've completed as well as the link to the patterns so you can make your own version!
Let's start out with something simple. A few of my current "WIPs":
I've been commissioned to make some super adorable baby hats! I'm starting out with a gem of a giraffe hat! Unfortunately, I'm not far enough along to post a photo of my own hat and I'm not quite sure about the copyright of using one of someone else's... So you'll have to head on over to "REPEAT CRAFTER ME" and check it out for yourself! While you're there be sure to check out her other free patterns! They are amazing! It's easily one of my favorite blogs for instant crochet inspiration!
Then of course there's this really cute bear hat that I've made for my cousin's baby! I can't wait to meet the newest addition to our family this April! I have time to add a little something special to this creation. I'm thinking it needs a bow right between the ears and some little ties at the earflaps! The pattern I used is relatively basic, and being as the project is so small it's a quick work up! The pattern is adjusted for sizes ranging to fit a newborn all the way up to an adult!
You can find this pattern by visiting the blog Micah Makes!
Lastly, there's a project for a very selfish knitter! I started this gorgeous scarf with the good intentions of giving it to a good friend for a Christmas gift... but as I neared the completion I could hear my inner selfish gal screaming "NO!!!! KEEP IT!!!" To answer your question, yes I listened to the little devil on my shoulder (who was holding what appeared to be a 3-pronged knitting needle... well maaaaybe a pitchfork is more likely)
Anyway! Moving right along, this scarf is lovely. It features a zigzag lace pattern and seed stitch! And the best part!!!! It has a hood! Of course that's totally optional, but it was one of the key factors in my decision to "Cast on!"
I still have a few more rows to go before the hood is finished! I can't wait to debut it! The pattern is available as a free download from Red Heart and you can find it HERE!
Well that's it for now! More projects to come this year!!!
Happy 2015!!!!
XOXO
