Baby Hats on Parade

Hello Crafty Followers!

It has truly been too long since I've posted about my crafty endeavors. Since my last post I've been to Philadelphia for the wedding of my best friend. While I was nervous about flying, it was an adventure that proved to be a delight! I saw some incredible things and was introduced to the most amazing store... ahum... LUSH! "Louis this could be the start of a beautiful friendship" perfectly describes my feelings toward the trendy vegan/ environmentally friendly haven! Anyway, moving right along from my discovery of the witchcraft that is the FUNbar and Twilight bath bomb! I also met some pretty amazing people and bonded over Bacon, because who doesn't love bacon (... no offense to my vegetarian followers). To sum up a story that could one day be turned into a romantic comedy by Hallmark... I shall suffice to say that I had a wonderful time! You wanna know more? You'll have to wait twenty years and buy my memoirs! LOL!

Anyway... Let's talk shop, shall we?! Craftiness is abounding these days, and I was recently commissioned to make several adorable baby hats for a friend. Being the picky person I am I was on a quest to find the perfect patterns for these hats! Most of them were compilations of the patterns I liked the best, so please bear with me as I explain where and how you can find these patterns to make your own version of these cuties!

For the actual hat I used a little pattern that I found on a crochet charity website. All the other hats I tried turned out too big for some reason. You can find it HERE!

Now for the fun stuff! Embellishments! This is the stuff that crochet dreams are made of! The stuff that gets us HOOKED! (Sorry, I really couldn't resist)
1. Giraffe Hat Pattern--- Okay, y'all have heard me sing the praises of the genius that is Sarah Zimmerman before! Seriously, if you are looking for adorable hat inspiration or crockpot wonders this is your place... Anyways. As much as I love the original pattern design, my friend wanted something a little different. So I just followed the pattern for the horns, ears, and spots and here's the result! You can find the pattern Here

2. Elephant--- Obviously I found another pattern from Repeat
Crafter Me and followed for the ears and trunk! You can find it HERE

Now doesn't that melt your heart! Elephants are my favorite, I'm gonna have to break down and make one of these for my niece!

So check em out and make one of your own! As always we'd love to see your creations!
Happy Crafting!
