How to make a cute bow!

Hello and welcome to The Treasure Trove first edition of "Make Something Monday"!  It's fall and that means time to break out the hats and scarves! I always love to wear my knitted or crochet hats and tie ribbons or maybe even put a cute knitted bow on it just to add some extra flair. This lightning fast project also makes a really cute hair accessory!

Things you will need:
Size 9 Straight Knitting Needles
Some extra bulky yarn in whatever color tickles your fancy
Tapestry needle
Some scrap yarn in a  coordinating color to stitch your bow together!

Let's get started:

Cast on 10 stitches
Row 1: Knit every stitch
R2: Knit
R3: K1, K2tog to last stitch, K1
R4 &5: Repeat R3
R6: Knit
R7: Knit
R8: K3tog, you should only have one live stitch at this point.Knit into this stitch.
It's now okay to remove your project from the needles.

You should have something similar to this photo!----

You will need to repeat this process to make a matching side.

After that is complete, take your tapestry needle and scrap yarn and stitch your two sides together. Make sure your stitches are secure by sewing in an "X" pattern several times, then tying it off in the back using a double knot. Wrap the rest of your yarn around the middle of the bow. This will give it a quaint feel and lessen the chance of it falling apart. Tie it off in the back once more. You're done!

For hair use:
-Attach a bobby pin on the middle yarn. When styling hair use a second bobby pin to secure your hold from the opposite side.

For embellishment use: (hats, brooches, etc.):
- Attach an alligator clip (this works best with hats). You can find them at any craft store, even walmart!
- Using a small safety pin, carefully attach. Run the non-pointed side under the center yarn, this will leave the point for you to use on whatever. Attach it to your clothes, wear it, love it! That is all!
